Top Gear Last Nite

Every TV show is scripted, even Top Gear. The worst part for me was the stunt guy. I think we all know he wasn't going to get anywhere near the landing area at 30-40mph.

However, the insert bits can be good. Remember when they went on a road trip to some hick parts of the USA.

The wide angle shots where you don't see a presenter are usually filmed afterwards and probably not with the presenters in the car. If you take the race from England to France where Jeremy drove and the other boys took a train. You don't expect Jeremy to make a couple of passes along the same stretch of motorway so the camera crew can get the perfect shot. Or wait for the helicopter to get the perfect aerial shot. That stuff can take hours to get right. They record all the in-car and piece to camera stuff as the race progresses, and come back to fill in the arty wide angle shots later.

It could do with some female presenter alright.

I tell you something though!
Did you see when the wheel came off the fiat coupe, It only just missed the cameraman, the james a richard, with the big spikey thing on
You can't script for that
Thank god health and safety have gone out the window  makesw it more interesting :D
Other dangerous stuff was richard turning sharply in a vitara with no helmet,
Jeremy digging that spike into the car the stig is driving, it would easily enough go through the door,
The reverse jump with no special safety gear at all, No rollcage or anything!
Might be worth watching this series after all!

Yes lads the next top gear which is on Sunday will have the evo vs sti

Richard travels to France in Audi's new 572bhp RS6 estate car to take part in a spectacular race with a pair of irritatingly cool skiers.

Jeremy takes the Mercedes CLK Black for a late-night drive on London's deserted streets and accidentally ends up in Wales.

Top Gear Stunt Man returns to recreate one of the most famous car stunts in movie history.

And, bad boys of motoring, the Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru Impreza, fight it out on the test track. Clarkson referees.

Last sundays top gear was alright!
He was very biased towards the evo! for a start he was compareing the FQ360 version to a standard STi, To be fair he should have compared the FQ360 to a Litchfeild Type20,
Then the handling comparison would have been fairer,
He did how ever put the standard 300bhp evo on the track against the clock and she was slightly slower than the STi :headbanger:
But they did glamorise the EVO, with great camera angles and lots of power slides and saying how well equiped in was but bit was the top spec FQ360 model which is €20,000 more expensive than the STi,
Was the STi featured even the one with the 18" wheels???????? I don't think so? So they were comparing the lowest spec STI to the hioghest spec Evo  D1cks
The rest of the show was good, I really like the CLK Black! ohh yes, mmmmm
