So I got back at the gearbox today for an hour or two and got a nice bit of stripping done,I'm stacking all the gears as I take them out so it should be handy to rebuild the new pinion shaft when fitted.
It's tricky work and a bit scary but so far so good[emoji27][emoji106]

If I get a chance tomorrow I might try get it all back together,it's my first bit of work in a gearbox so it's slow progress but it's getting there[emoji106]

The next chapter for the Saxo has started tonight with the front end getting stripped down to convert to phase 1 so I can race in future classics Championship next year.
Already it seems the phase 1 bonnet is lighter I must check to see how much but it's well noticeable also the angle eye lights are a good bit lighter with plastic instead of glass and no level motors,so gains already[emoji6]
I'm also finding lots of unwanted wiring that can be stripped out.
I might look at upgrading the rad and maybe fit an oil cooler just to keep engine temps down in a 20min race.

Cheers Ciaran I'm not sure about that but thanks[emoji1]
I'm doing my best to make it some way interesting by sticking stuff up as soon as I do it and trying to do it all myself to show it all can be done,I'm doing things with this car I never thought I'd be doing.
So if it's anyway helpful or interesting job done[emoji106][emoji106]

Great work fella

I don't know how you get the time but respect

I'm starting to like these dark wet evenings got lots done this evening, radiator, fan and gearbox out its so handy with the front end off[emoji1]
Looking at the old gear links and I think I'll try get some new rose jointed links and modify the quick shifter to get it closer to me without spending nuts money on Satchshift.

Small update this evening after the weekend of no work on the car.
Pulled out lots more unwanted bits and pieces and done a wee mock up of the front end.

Front panel fitted to see what I can cut away to save weight and get more air into the engine and rad.

So after this I decided to cut the whole middle out bonnet pins will hold down the bonnet and a light tin alloy bar across will hold the rad.

Offers up the phase 1 lights and grill to see how it will look also removed the centre from the grill to further help air flow.

Spare parts not needed this should really help fuel economy[emoji6]
