Track day car

Small update this evening after the weekend of no work on the car.
Pulled out lots more unwanted bits and pieces and done a wee mock up of the front end.

Front panel fitted to see what I can cut away to save weight and get more air into the engine and rad.

So after this I decided to cut the whole middle out bonnet pins will hold down the bonnet and a light tin alloy bar across will hold the rad.

Offers up the phase 1 lights and grill to see how it will look also removed the centre from the grill to further help air flow.

Might get the rad secured during the week and get it out for a to see what the new ratios are like, the rad I was thinking of getting was working out mad money so I'll stick with its own rad for now.
I'll get more air in through the bumper when I remove the inner skin[emoji106]

This evenings small job was removing the front bumper inner skin, and drilling some 50mm holes for more cooling.

Picked up a set of carbon look aero bonnet pins today, and started to work on fitting them this evening.

I need to cut away some of the bonnet skin for fitting them, but while I'm at if I'll loose as much as I can without making the bonnet too weak.

I don't think I'll take much more off but I'll trim where I can, just for more weight saving.

This is where they will sit when finished, when I get all this messing done the yellow panels will be sprayed over the Christmas, and then it will be ready for its new vinyl job[emoji106]

Myself and the lads got some Christmas Eve work done on the Saxo[emoji1]
Bonnet pins now fitted,it was another time consuming little job but I'm happy with the results.

You can put umbrellas in the doors Adrian like a Rolls Royce Phantom now [emoji1]

You keeping all the removed bits to calculate the saved weight ?

Great work as always [emoji106]

Good work, would changing the wing mirrors to dtm carbon mirrors safe some weight, there not expensive and the original one look heavy enou

Ha I'll tell ya I have been to some events this year where the umbrella could have been handy[emoji23]so maybe I will fit one[emoji106]
I still have all the scrap I have removed, but the conversation it's self will have saved a lot of weight.
That bonnet is nearly half the weight as the phase 2 and same with the head lights[emoji3]
