Trackday Aftermath

Was just going through my to do list after the trackday so thought I'd see what everyone else needs/wants to do with their car to prep for the next trackday.

I need:
- New disks, finished off whatever cheap shite was on the car when i bought it.. Will probably go 2-piece vented but will see, might get rears to match also.
- New braided hoses, goodridge or earls.. Need something to handle the heat thrown out by the carbon lorraine pads

I want:
- Coilovers
- 24mm ARB
- Droplinks
- Antilift kit
- Rear camber bolts


All cash flow dependant of course but Christmas and my birthday are coming up so I'll see what I can swindle away, ha ha :icon_grin:

What's everyone else's planned track upgrades?

my to do is not that long actually as im happy with how my car is on track chassis wise its fairly well set up ,i think i just need bigger brakes i meant to have them on this year but said id go to the ring instead :multijump:

yeah robbie(sweetcakes), after beng out in robbie(b4) 02 sti (avatar) and rob's blob wrx , i also want to adress my handling as their cars felt way more planted than my own ,so would have much the same wishlist as yoursef. .my "turn in" and "twitchiness" are main concerns .

@ midland , glad to be able to "show you the light" ,

as for camera mount , ebay is your friend if you have a smart phone , surprising quality , but i just cant get the two vids i have upload , frustrating
 
I think from February mine will be a track car only as il be going from a 10klm round trip a day to a 60klm round trip so money wise it wont be worth it with tolls etc.

I will just make sure i have a good set of tyres and maybe 4pots everything else was bang on for the track day. :multijump:
 
What I defo need:

Rear camber bolt kit. - fitting BC coilovers made the rear camber positive. That's the main reason for my struggling with the car in the morning. It oversteered like a b1tch on every corner. After few hours of changing few settings in the suspension incl hardening the front and maxing the front camber to the most negative, it started handling ok. Still, my dccd was on the highest orange setting, to keep it stable.

I need bigger brakes. My blue stuff NDX and dba disks on 4pots passed the test, but they simply are too small. I was never in a situation to be without braking power at all, but with my left foot braking, they were tiring pretty easily. So perphaps brembo conversion or ksport will be my next upgrade.

I already have antilift kit,
The front 22mm whiteline antirollbar is ready to be fitted.
My rear 20mm whiteline might be replaced with 24mm version.
Maybe roll correction/ anti bump steering kit. I heard its amazing

Bigger brakes and I guess that means getting rid of my bbs wheels :icon_sad:

Also a few whiteline bits as she rolls a little

New rear shocks. Roll the arches as its still rubbing .more power in the new year. new gear box and mabey diff and take it from there.

That's the 1 alright, ha ha :roll: .. in the video I think I'm making about 70 different excuses while all Eoin wanted to do was get in and change his underpants :multijump: .. the real reason is that I unfortunately ran out of talent, ha ha.. ill get better and next year in the wet ill nail that switch from the right hand power slide to the left hand power slide :icon_headbang:
 
those s-bends after tarzan are the nicest bends for gettin it out imo ,, and can totally relate to the "running out of talent" comment , think near the endof the day , wagon dec and baz had a view of my tank slapper cuming out of turn two lol . and then baz had a moment a min later although his manouvre looked a lot more controlled than myne . mighty craic .
 
I learned a lot on the track day about my car, about what track driving is about(smooth and controlled and not just going out there and keeping the show in) and most importantly about my own abilities.

For next track day I need my suspension sorted and perhaps bigger brakes. OEM shocks and springs just not good enough for track and my brakes started to fade.

Shopping list....

Fully adjustable Coilovers (Probably BC Racing)
Rear 24mm ARB
Front 22mm ARB
Some front wheel camber
