Middle Lane Hogs
As the title says lads , trying to get out of back taxing the van for 10 months . Was thinking of putting it into the wife's name and then changing it back .
What do you reckon would that work . Any other ideas would be great , just don't want to give the buggers the money .

I don't know stewy I think if its sold without tax the previous owner is liable for it but im not 100% on that

Stick it someone else's name down here ya walk in wit book say you only after buying and want to tax it will do it straight away
Just watch your insurance doesn't state it has to be owned by you

stewy i sold my subaru to the missus as it had been off the road even tho i had the declaration sign by the gaurds before the cut off date it got delayed in the post getting to them i got a replys wanting 2100 in arrears,i rang up and fair play to the bloke he said theres ways around if you think about it!!so i went home and sold it the missus lol put it in her name and used my aulads address then signed it off the road when new book came

yes it works, the wagon i bought a few months back hadnt been taxed since 2010 :eek2 and when i changed it into my name, no arrears.

Yep works alright. They do say the old owner Will be liable. But i put the wifes yoke in my name last Nov and taxed it. They haven't come after her yet.
