It works actually the same way in general. But has a bit different parameters etc.
The difference from single scroll is that twin-scroll have two exhaust gases entries (requires different uppipe/exhaust manifold) to
start a bit faster.
Hi yes @rudeboy give general jist of it. instead of 4into1 exhaust into turbo it is indiviual to gases from each head.
So the 2 cylinders from left head and 2 cylinder gases from right head so be 2+2 into the turbo or 2into1 and 2into1 to turbo if that makes sense.
Models available are from all jdm blob eye 2003 on (late 2002) which have dccd and amber speedos.
These had a roller bear VF37. The spec c's had a ball bearing VF36 turbo whilst the s203 and s204 had a ball bearing VF42 turbo.
Also the 03 on Legacy GT also uses the twin scroll set up with a td03/04 twin scroll turbo (but lots of room for improvement )
We have recently devoloped a twin scroll hybrid conversion turbo that is available on exchange basis for the above impreza turbo range that does seriously well.. vf36 + vf37 seeing area of 370bhp and a custom STi TUINNG Garret GT30 based twin scroll turbo seeing upto the 390-395bhp. 370-390BHP with a twin scroll turbo at such early revs is absolutely the best b-road car you could ever get IMO.
