as above lads a mates car went for the test this morning in tullamore and was failed because the back windows have no e mark, anyone ever heard of this?and they said the only ways he will get it passed is (a) fit e marked windows (B) get subaru ireland to write a letter stating that the glass fitted is safety glass and conforms to safety standards :dontknow: :dontknow:

They are going mad with all this E marked crap even tyres are failing be they top brands or not, unless they got the E.
I take it the tint is factory Dec?

I think maybe your mate is mixing two issues into one there????
Is there such thing as E marks windows???
Dan

I doubt subaru irl will play ball, I'm sure they would love for you to have to fork out for new glass, and I'm sure the government are only to happy to reap the vat in relation to it also!!!!!!!!!
Dan

looks like subaru are ou the only car with this problem , just had a walk around car park in work and any irish car i've seen has all e marked glass but there is a jap import civic here with no e marks in back windows either , looks like trouble for anyone with an imported car

brian your right they are taking the piss in that centre theres one guy he test my car before hes a proper pr1ck fails cars for fook all they are going overboard on this sh1t now just to get people back in for retests
fookin government out to make more money :angry1:

Mine has no E mark on the rear windows on my type r and it passed nct test. I never heard of an e mark for windows only e mark for tyres?? they are supposed to have equipment that they put up to the glass to see the % of light.

just rang nct head office ,they said that this legislation has been in since 2000 and when he told me that i said to that there are loads of these cars on the road in ireland with valid nct tests ,then he said to me if i can prove a car of the exact same spec has passed a test i have a case and it should be passed.so goin to get a loan of scallys car and go to the test centre when this other car is being retested and have a good aul argument witrh the guy that failed it ,will let ye know the out come thanks
