hey ive a type r 1998 v4 i recently dropped my subaru to a local auto electrician as i was getting afew bits and bobs installed.I collected the car and all was well, that evening i tried in vain to start the car and no go i checked the timing fuel pump and i have spark and still no go its like the injectors are not opening,i also checked where the guy was messing with wires near my ecu and found exposed wires i taped them up and no joy,IS THE ECU AFTER FRYING or maybe a relay i also checked cam position sensor if anyone has any idea or input that would be great cheers as im a newb to these cars fit to pull my hair out as i just tested and taxed the car cheers :eek:hhpoopoo:

is there an immobiliser on the car?. i seen one car before a v4 type r where the loom goin to the cam sensor had become brittle and the copper core was half broken causing an intermittent break in contact had to replace about a foot of the loom and it sorted it dont know if yours is the same but might be worth a look

yea theres an immobiliser in the car ill give a look at that but i think its a bit more terminal than that ive good fuel pressure and decent spark might try and strip the wires and check the current thanks Dec

Does the car turn over alright.

Had a weird non - starting issue with my car.

Turned out i needed a good negative connection from the body of the car to a negative on the battery.

Added an extra lead from the negative to a solid earth point.

(try it with a jump lead first)

Been running fine since.

Hope that helps.

First things I'd be checking after what you have already is the crank/cam sensors and their wiring

I got it going there this evening I took the plugs out of the car and found that they were drowned with petrol so I got new plugs and the fitted them and the car fired straight up delighted it fired and ran sweet but my only concern was the wet plugs, concerned maybe the car is over fueling. If anyone has experience cheers for the advice

It's not over fuelling just unburnt fuel from all the cranking
You've probably disturbed the dodgy wiring while doing the plugs your problem may not be cured
