I think that one in the link is a V4, could be wrong, looks well.

definitely v4 in my opinion going by the round world championship sticker on the boot, never seen one on a v5 sti.
also it has v4/wrx steering wheel v5 sti has silver centre.

Also for this kind of money I guess could get a Impreza RS (like the one they had in US, LHD 2d coupe) and put newage STI internals in it. A bit heavier but surely more reliable solution and I guess with a potential of being faster.

Do this. You can drive it day and night and on the track without a guilty conscience. Modify it for more power and reliability without the guilt of ruining a mint Type-R. Plus it will be cheaper for you and more useable. Let us know how you proceed.
