UEL headers on NA Impreza

So, before anyone here writes how expensive and stupid that is, this is PURELY HYPOTETICAL question. More than actually doing it, I would like to see whether it is possible, and how much work would that be.

Two main questions.

I have seen guys in NASIOC doing it on theirs 2.5liters NA, which seems to be possible, but the question is, is this also possible on 2.0l?

Would this hypothetical mod have any negative impact on performance of car, I can imagine it could, as there would not be the right airflow - but that could be resolved by bigger diameter exhaust?

I can also imagine, in terms of $$$ this does not make sense at all, why spend 1000euro(wild guess) on mod, that ruins the car, just to get the rumble.

Would Blob WRX headers fit on hawk 2.0l engine? As far as my knowledge goes, both are EJ20 engines, so it should fit, am I right?

again, I am not planning doing it, just trying to get as much info about this. I am interested in this purely for the 'modding porn' rather than actually doing it.

So, currently, the sound the car makes with this exhaust can be seen heard here:

now, I know, that by decating and changing backbox I could get this:

this is literally the kind of sound I love and having it on my car would be a dream - on the other hand, again, this is hypothetical thread, I do not want to spend 1000euro on getting this sound, while I could save that up and buy real WRX or even STI somewhere in future.

The burble is made by the exhaust manifold on the turbos not the exhaust itself
 
A lad in Donegal that has a 2 litre put turbo exhaust manifold on and made an exhaust from where the up pipe connects to and you would think it was a turbo ticking over .

I might have all the parts for you but you would need a custom pipe made to connect the manifold to your factory exhaust
 
Baz: Hmmm... you are making me really interested there... can you get more info about that for me? If its just piping that needs to be done, I could do some soldering maybe?

Baz: So if I understand it, you have the headers somewhere spare? If you have them, how much would you want for it?

Ciaran: So BRZ has equal lenght headers and ppl are modifying them with UEL headers?
 
Easy done . Borland headers do the job .

There is a pulse extraction system to remove also .

Do you know in percentage how much power are we talking about? I have read NASIOC, and the guys that have it says, that sometimes there is power gain, and sometimes there is power loss... Some of them say there was difference in matter of measuring differences...
 
I will revive this, coz I have few more questions that you could answer.

If I get the different headers, and I want to keep the exhaust I currently have including the Cat, will that work? Am I going to get any CELs?
 
If looking to spend money, you should look for a pm sti bonnet and spoiler and complete the replica look. Just look at tommy's old car for inspiration.
 
I think your car sounds well as it is on those drive by's, I'd like to hear the BRZ on a drive by

trust me, I have seen Tommys car, it was savage, at the same time, I am looking for some cheap used hood with scoop and proper rear spoiler. Also the rear window spoiler and splitter. I dont mind the color, if you come across some, sure let me know:) but its hard to come by, there is not so many hawks for breaking as of yet, and usually ppl are trying to get rid of the stuff that they got left after change, so majority of hoods will be without scoop:)
 
I said to you above you will need a pipe made up from the uel headers to your factory exhaust , you will need any sensors that are in place kept in the same position and you shouldn't get cel

Sweet, thanks baz, I am just trying to gather as much info about potebtial problems before jumping in it, so i am ready and can get it fixed asap if sometbing happens
