up pipe

Re: down pipe

not really chris

but if you want to get the best from it you should

Re: down pipe

the reason i want to change it is i noticed that there is a blow out somewhere around where the up pipe meets the turbo.
i took it off tonight but im not sure if its a gasket are the up pipe thats damaged.
ill have a proper look tomorrow and see but i was thinking that if i was changing it would i be better off buying an after market one?
and will it make a difference with the nct?

Re: down pipe

not a chance in passing the nct with a decat downpipe on noise and co2 levels. sure when your nct is due just get a lend of a standard downpipe from one of the lads on the site and ur sorted

Re: down pipe

Your simtek is mapped for your standard exhaust. If you decat it you WILL need a remap.

Re: down pipe

As above... by removing the cat, an internal pressure of exhaust gets changed. Your turbo will spool more freely, causing over-boosting and stuff. Remap is a must.

sorry lads i meant to say up pipe i made a mistake in my first post!
i already have a down pipe and its remapped for it and i have the original for the nct.
is there a cat in the up pipe as well?

no it wont need a remap as theres no cat in the uppipe on a classic

but dont use an after market one as there shite quality, use a subaru and youll be grand

i beg to differ

use a standard up-pipe and do a bit of porting on it your-self.

Harvey smith is now onto a gen3 up-pipe which has proved to improve performance and he uses a standard oe up-pipe and ports it.
