Upgrading non-turbo engine to turbo

Possibly a very silly question and im bracing myself for some stick but what is the possibilties and limits/side affects to upgrading a 00 1.6 non-turbo impreza to a turbo model? im sure its cheaper to buy a turbo model altogether to avoid any hassle but was interested in knowing if it could be done and has there been any previous examples of this being done successfully :iamwithstupid:
 
The car Kanye is talking about got a lot of stick over the name of the tuning company. I think all of us thought it was a p1ss take!! Company name was S H I T if i remember correctly. Built up North and then a chap from Dublin bought it. A lot of work involved if you were going to go down that road.
 
As Mark said a lad up north added a turbo to his 1.6

I remember seeing a thread on it and the lad himself saying there was an awfull lot time and effort put into it and he would not tackle it again :dontknow:

So in summary it can be done but probably not worth it
 
Yeah it can be done im sure but at the present market ud buy a nice turbo model for right money and there is some nice ones on here for sale :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
 
if ya buy a crashed turbo car for little money and swap everything over it might be an idea but probably cheaper and more reliable to buy good turbo car

or supercharger kits are available from oz but still not goin to get the power your after , ,
