Lads I need help urgently!!! I'm stranded in Dundalk and the fuel pump has gone and I the garage... Lacertid don't have one. Anyone got one you can loan me to get the car home???

davelegacy would probably have loads of these lying around jamie. He's probably only 30 mins from Dundalk if you could arrange a collection?

I can't help unfortunately, stuck in work :wall:

Thanks Colm.. And mac mac for the pm!! Fucking Quinn will only tow car min 20 mile to back street garage... No Subaru dealers near by. Car is with lads who don't know what the fu*k it is and have no parts to sort. They reckon some local moto factors have pump matching the spec of car but prob spurious!! Won't know til mid afternoon if pump works... At that point I'll have to get the car put of there before they close so best bet at that point is to get it towed back to Dublin! On top if the root canal I had done this morning and the fucking agony pain I'm in... This is not turning out to be the best day!!!!! Grrrrr!!!

Thanks to all for offers of help today. I got the car home eventually... Albeit on the back of a tow track costing me over 200 euro. Turned out not to be fuel pump in the end.. Immobolizer seems to be cutting power to fuel pump. F*cking Sigma alarm... Twice in one week and looks like two separate problems!

Jesus thats one sucky day! Do you have breakdown assit with Quinn
and they were only good for a short tow, not home at least!

Hope you can manage to get your alarm/fuel pump sorted.

only logged in now...sorry jamie!!!
have a spare pump here but obviously wouldnt have worked...
did the car cut out or not start after being laid up???
not sure on classic but on newage there is a fuse (forget what its labelled) in fusebox that cuts fuel pump....
ask nic spec c if you like...happened to him and i told him what to do!!!
have a try

Don't know what the cover is... but it's shite. I'd have thought they where obliged to tow the car to the nearest Subaru dealer... not some back street garage! I'll be getting onto them today and argueing with them over the expenses... waste of time I'm sure!

Cheers Marko... it cut out while I was driving. Just lost power while cruising at 100kph! It intermittently did it on the M1... but cleared itself... I just put it down to dirt in the tank... but then died properly outside Dundalk! No sign of any fuses gone. Ciaran has it now and reckons it's the immoblizer tripping out and cutting the fuel pump.

Jamie
I argued with them last time my rad burst to get the car towed home!!'
The cover stated that they would tow it to the nearest authorised garage, I told them the only person authorised to work on my car was me!!! And therefore it had to be towed to my location
It was only another 20 miles but it worked!!!
