Vaccum hoses

Hi All,

With the 2000 Subaru Legacy Blitzen, It is going in for a new clutch, Braided lines, Pads and Fuel Pump. Then with the rust on the rear arches, It will all be dealt with, including a respray in August. So it should look the part. Then for the Brains of the operation, It will be getting a Link ECU and new wiring loom and a few extra sensors to look after the engine, then to top all off, it is getting a Haltech Digi Dash. Lastly it is getting an upgrade to a Drive By Wire conversion, so I can get the trottle kick in play as part of the Link map. One for the NCT and a second map with Burble tune for the car meet and drive cruises. Cant wait for that..

What is next in line is the engine bay itself. With the rubber vaccum hoses. Can anyone point me in the right direction if there is a kit you can get to replace the vacuum hoses OR do you just get a length of hose and cut and jubilee clip them all in place?.

If Im right, I did meet some of you guys in Bray today at the Cars and Coffee. Great to meet you guys there...

Hopefully this Legacy will be flying and back in mint condition by end of August....

depends on the hose really, some or formed to a certain shape and the easier option is to buy them new OEM.

there is aftermarket silicon kits but the fit on them is hit or miss and need some trimming to fit properly (but they are a bit of bling too)

put your vin into partsouq and you'll be able to find OEM part numbers to search around for

There was a group buy years ago for top and bottom Rad hoses. But could also get other hoses. Can’t remember the brand. Not premium. Possibly Viper.
But looked good in engine bay.

For Vacuum hoses you could get Samco from Murray Motor sport.
Black or Blue.
Need to choose the correct size. Diameter.
Then cut to length.
I got the packet when changing my Turbo.
Some tubes were beginning to deteriorate with the heat/age. Etc.

These pics of the vaccuum lines may help, though may differ to what you have. There's restrictor pills within the lines, and you need to make sure they get put back otherwise it'll cause issues.
There's no kits, but 5m of 3mm sillicone line should be enough, it's a cut to fit job. I think 5mm pipe is also required but unsure on this.
And yeah, you met me anyways, lovely blitzen you got. It's class now, it'll be showroom when you get it back

Unless you have an issue I wouldn’t go changing any vac lines ,
I don’t think there is a specific plugin ecu for the twin turbo , could be wrong now

As Baz says, leave well enough alone if not casing issues.

Single Turbo T Pipe with restrictor pill,
code is possibly 22315AA010 for 2006 JDM.
Not sure of the twin scroll set up.

All is good with the engine, No issues thankfully even with 191K on the clock, it is just more preventative maintenance then issues. If it is best left alone, then so be it. Ill just get the engine bay valeted.

As for the ECU for the Legacy, there is no plug and play ECU for it. Ive been working with Robbie from Track Day Performance. we or he has settled on the Below ECU.
Link G4 X ECU
G4 X Xtreme Standalone ECU

After this is just fixing the bolster on the drivers seat on the right hand side.

Thanks for all of the advise. It is a huge help and great to know I have options now.
