value my car

not being smart lad but what ever someone or the highest bidder is willing to pay for it is what its worth the way the market is gone.unless your not pushed on selling and can hold out for what your looking for it or for a decent price.its tough out there but stuff is still selling . :thumbs up:

Its worth €5-6k, probably closer to 5 if i'm being honest. Thats what you'd have to take if you wanted to shift it in the reasonably near future. Very few people actually in the market for them is the problem, you'll really only get people who are looking and able to afford a weekend car for the odd blast around the place. Its a sad thing to say to a seller but its the truth unfortunately.

Looking at it as a potential buyer, as I am at the moment, I am wondering why the original V6 splitter was replaced with a P1 splitter and why the different spoiler was put onto a limited edition car. May be innocent but they are just the qustions I would be asking and wondering about because whoever did it is ruining the originality of a limited edition car in my eyes.

Just looking at your ad there Eddie, its back in Dec 2010 i advised you to drop your price if you wanted to sell, i was being honest with you back then while some were massaging your ego and living in a perfect world. If you had of dropped it back then you might have had some hope of selling it and getting maybe 5-6k..
Going to keep being straight with you now. 4k is the money for that car, not a penny more, ive been watching the prices and a 4dr wont bring the money a 2dr will, and 2drs are down in price so the 4dr will be less.
You may decide whether you will sell her for that or just keep her. I know there will be lads who will disagree with me but they havent got the car and wanting to sell so its easy for them to say 6 7 8 k etc.

naw i wanted opinions no harm in that,i was thinkin id have to move in to the 6 figure anyway,il hold out and drop again i can only try sure, cheers for the comments

When you had it for 10k did you get any offers? Have you been gettin' ANY offers on it at all?

i agree with KENC , the person who wants the car cant afford it and the person who can afford it does nt want it , any car that is dear to tax , insure and run are really hard to sell , despite what people say about hanging on the right person will come along ,they themselves never seem to be buying any of these great bargains ,cars loose money ,very few rise in value

petrol in may 2009 cost .99 cents a litre
today in the same petrol station its 1.46 a litre thats regular unleaded

so it would nearly take 30 euros to get the same amount of fuel that 20 euro would have bought 2 years ago

Even fully rebuilt TypeR's and RA's are struggling to make 7.5k. I think you should have cut your losses last year and had her up for 8k and the 1st person to offer between 7200 & the 8k I would have taken.

Don't get me wrong it's a lovely car but when cars that have a bigger spec are out there for the same money aren't even selling, you're going to have to make some very hard decisions. It's shite but it's just the way things have gone. If she's not costing you anything then I'd hold on to her.

naw its not costing anything just sitting there but wud love the money,no i didnt get any offers couple swaps but nothing worth while

If I were in your shoes, and I had somewhere to store it, I'd put it's original parts back on and put her away. I reckon they'll be sought for in a few years.

Have you thought about a raffle maybe?

I've yet to come across a raffle that has actually worked out. If, for example, you wanted to do it for €5k, then you'd need 50 people to fork out €100. And would anyone ever put €100 on a 50/1 shot? Never mind finding 50 people who have a €100 spare nowadays anyway

How often do these raffles ever materialise, and look how long it would take if it ever got done.
My opinion or advise if you like is to have a sit down, have a think about your situation (only you know how your fixed) Decide if you really want to get rid or not, then decide on the lowest you will let it go for, reason im say the lowest is its just cutting to the chase no bullshit, if for talk sake 5k is your absolute best then advertise it for 5k strictly no offers etc etc.. I know you will have guys that will offer you a grand less than your asking, but trouble is if you ad on that grand to your asking price it causes guys to just skip over your ad as it dont stand out to them... So decide what you have to get to sell, advertise it at that and if it dont sell then keep it..
I dont really buy into the whole thing of they will be sought after in future theory, they still wont get anymore than current prices so its holding onto something for no reason imo

forget about a raffle waste of time seen at least ten lads start threads with 20 names and no money collected and out of that 20 you'd be lucky to get 5 to come up with the cash . do as kenc said stick up the lowest price you'll take and see will it shift :thumbs up:

Selling at the moment is a disaster. If you can hold on. I have a P1 that i gave nearly €15,000 for 3 years ago. Ive only improved the car in my ownership and i cant get €8,000 for it so im just gonna hold onto it. There are alot of fellas out there now who have had to sell there toys and when things pick up again in the country they will want them back again. Thats the time to sell, if you can wait.
