I have a 05 berlingo and the last few days the steering is getting heavy when driving from time to time, could be fine for ages then for a split second or too it could get stiff. The power stering pump is belt driven , its not making any noise and no leaks . Could it be on the way out just when its belt driven you'd imagine it would work or not work . Could it be streering rack either or something else even any way of checking the pump

there is a ram on the power steering rack that gives a bit of trouble and i've seen the steering knuckle where the steering column meets the rack seize aswell but that only tends to happen on the 2007 ones for some reason
