I've just got engine light up and this code. It came after I had successfully installed defi gauges to my 2001 sti impreza. Its idle is terrible, radiator fans are on constant, speedo acting a bit funny and doesn't like going over 4500rpm. Anybody else have this issue? Car was perfect before hand. Thanks for any help
 
you might have successfully installed your defi gauges but you must have disconnected something along the way, go back over what you did and youll most likely see it
 
did you happen to find two green plugs under your dash while wiring in your gauges and plug them together, thinking they need to be together, there NOT ment to be joined together while the car is running
 
As above green connectors pluged in unplug them or else you tapped in on if them
 
I read that somewhere before not to connect those green connectors, so they are still unplugged. The sensor itself was initially loose so I removed it and cleaned it with contcat solution and reconnected it. Car ran perfect for about 20 miles and then light came back up.

I have since replaced this VS sensor and checked back over all wiring from gauges install. All looks to be good. I'm taking power for gauges off radio power. Engine light came back on again after 10 miles or so and same fault code. These green connectors under dash are or have not been connected. Car seems to be running better, Idling fine, not losing power and speed looks normal I'm running out of ideas and starting to crack up!!!
