Very annoyed at the minute.

When you are supervising a learner driver, you have the same legal responsibilities as if you were driving. For example, the drink drive laws and the ban on using mobile phone applies to anyone who is supervising a learner - you are deemed to be in control of the vehicle.

to be honest mate be glad you aint loosing your licence... so I wouldnt go near the Garda or complain about it.. and thank your lucky stars,

we dont always agree with the Law :new_argue: but we cant do alot about it....

Think you would be aswell pay the fine and forget about it.Dont want to go upsetting coppers they have a long memory and will go out of there way to make there point.Think you would be wasting your time trying to go any further.Who would the judge side with.In saying that new judge down here and dosent take any crap few coppers already have been given a reality check.

:smokin:

Once i found out that they could have done me for drink driving i decided that would be that! I'll just pay the fine and be glad that its nothing worse.

I honestly didn't know that was the case or i wouldn't have bothered having a drink! Think we'll get a taxi from now on!

Cheers for the replies lads.

Would you not think that if the passenger has a few drinks they would deem the learner not to have a full licence driver accompanying them and they get the fine? not the passenger

I have heard of this but am a little surprised that a learner is not allowed on motorway with full driver as if the full driver is tech in charge of the car that doesn't make many sense. I only live up the road from that hotel and have heard of a few people being stopped and tested just after leaving the hilton. There has been 20 more coppers brought into coolock to try improve garda presence in the area they are bloody everywhere now. Drove from baldoyle to my house and came across 3 checkpoints recently.
