VRT FOOK UP

Has anyone else been left dissillusioned by those fabulous people in the vrt office?

Had my car vrt'd there about 6weeks ago after she came in and they requested an inspection!!!!!

Brought her up and the individual put her down as a HX Impreza (Red in colour) when shes obviously BLUE

I had to change the colour with the Tax office before taxing just to be safe....

Im thinking to myself happy days as i saved 1k  on what i thought it should have been but cant help wondering if

its "safe" having my Type R down as a bog standard HX even though it was inspected? :cuckoo:

The individual only looked at the Chassis plate and took down the D2DD code.

Although i have insured her as she is (Type R Wrx Sti), cant help wondering whether this would pose a future problem and how?

Any input lads, as im curious now ever since i received the Cert of ownership in the post. :dontknow:

log book is a legal document!!!!
if the description on the book is not the same as what your driving....then its a failure to disclose information
insurance is not worth the paper its written on!!!!
stand to be corrected mate but thats my understanding of the issue!!!
good luck

But he has it insured as a type r wrx sti so he has disclosed the proper info

My log book just says Subaru Impreza

Garages do this so they pay less VRT.

As you say the car is Insured as a Type R WRX STi then I dont see the problem.

Mine is 2litre on the log book, and i asked a guard about it,
he said whatever it says on the book, it is.
upto the importer to sort it.
i think its a grey area.

If he/she took down the model code on the chassis plate, how did he get that wrong? I thought they had ever model code for Jap Impreza's when being vrt'd?

as long as its insured right id say your ok.

you bought the car cause ya liked the colour

I would simply ask the insurer and get them to confirm it in writing

Your fine once it is insured properly, it was the same when I had my Glanza. It was a Toyota Starlet on the logbook, but I insured it as a Glanza V.

get it back up and get it sorted if you imported it yourself you could be done for fraud nothing to do with. insurance this matter happened to a mate of mine customs impouneded it for several weeks when they checked themseleves prior to being registered
