I know this was discussed before but my friend is registering her mini tomorrow and I wanted to know if all I have to do is to change the date on the Dvla cert as she has is since last October and doesnt want to get fined.

if questioned tell them it wasnt on the road for a time!

up to them to proove it was being used not the other way round

Ok but the lad with the passat got fined for it even tho it was in some Polish lads name for the 1st year in was in the country on English plates. Do they not take the date of sale as the date it comes onto the country

I drove a car for almost 3 years before I vrt'd it. It was on the road every single day and they never daid nout when i VRT'd it.
The polish lad that owned that passat might have been caught messin on occasion and thats how they knew the car was in the country.......

Its not always a cut and dry case man..

bought my car in november 07 and didnt vrt till febuary 08...
no problems at all...
it might depend on if the car has any road traffic violations against it in the south..then they may know it was south for a while but i doubt that type of issue would arise!!!
