thats sack, get a quote on the revenue website and print it off and bring it with ya,they nearly always stick with the price you bring them, robbin b*****ds

They're probably giving you a penalty too for driving it here without VRT'ing it?

Didn't somebody else have a similiar problem a couple of days ago, car was taken off him until he paid the fine & vrt?

Take it back to england/fishguard, drive up to holyhead, sail to dublin, vrt it up there and still b cheaper than the fine lol

just take the car to a different vrt office and pay the tax listed on the website

hello one and all, i've just joined the site today. i'm an ex- impreza turbo owner. had to jack it in for a while to build house, get married etc. i'm in the process of buying a legacy b4 to rekindle the old passion, so to speak. i have done a lot of leg work on importing one myself direct and it works out very cheap, even when you pay the vat & 10% at dublin. only problem is finding out the v.r.t. revenue in dundalk don't know or seem to care very much. they said just bring in the print out from the vrt calculator and pay. i put hte details as a b4 be5 2.0 legacy, no option for turbo as far as i can see. calculates it at €899 vrt. anyone know is this right? someone i know who has brought in other makes reckons its more. i tried to find out off a local dealer but he wouldn't divulge any info. does the rf100 you get at the docks specify the vrt statistical code. i rang the customs and they're not interested in vrt either. getting conflicting stories and a headache! if the figure i got is ok and it goes through no problem it'll be well worth while doing. either that or i buy local with vrt paid. have one ready to buy. just wondering does anybody know or done it before? better stop writing........be here all day! any info would be appreciated greatly richiemac..............
