Car has to be driveable or they won't VRT it. Thought of bringing in crashed yokes... VRT'ing em cheap.... and fixing up and selling..... but they have to be driving in the first place whcih f**ked up that idea!
And yes it is illegal.... but they make so much off it they dont care bout being fined by th EU for doing it!
i think the only way you can bring in car without vrt is to have them cut in half or along those lines.....
i remember herbie in jap parts in ashbourne tellin me that years ago...
Technically illegal as double-taxation, however the EU have let them off the hook to a certain extent, a directive issued in 2005 has given 5-10 years for complete overhaul of VRT system. If you really care then you can read the following
I remember there was similar tax imposed in Poland.. The EU commission took it to the court, and polish government had to return all the money back to the payers.
So what's the problem here?
As far as I know anyone can sue the country (government) in the European Court of Justice.
Because we voted no to lisbon think the EU are not 2 pushed to help us out with anything
I can see them getting onto the government over all this kind of stuff just to piss them off for the no vote
