vw caddy

i have a 98 vw caddy 1.9 sdi and it has a problem starting after i turn off ignition..

it starts from cold every time but if i turn it off, go into shop and come back out, it wont start... it could start after 10 to 15 mins other times longer depending how much driving i done.... i was stuck today for nearly 40mins before it started.....

anyone any ideas where to start......

The is temp sensor that causes that on the tdi engines probably the same on a sdi
Google the fault and you will get a result

98 would not be an sdi engine it's the old type 1.9 straight diesel so doesn't have the temp sensor problem like the tdi's do have!

Usually with these tho I'd stick in a seperate heater button to heat em when warm!
