Re: Wanted V5 or V6 Type r

@Brian the add was taken down off carzone before I could get the telephone number

@DaveR yes Keith is right inquired about that car but investigated the engine re-build and the cause of a second re-build,and my mechanic didn't like the sound of it so that was that.....still looking

Re: Wanted V5 or V6 Type r

This really is a beautiful TypeR I was it in person myself. Looks unbeleaveable.

Re: Wanted V5 or V6 Type r

What year is that car. MY99 as it's a version 5. would that be right.

£8000 is about €10322 then we have to add VRT which is approx €4100 so would cost around €14400 for someone here.

Very nice car.

Re: Wanted V5 or V6 Type r

i have a v4 with a knocking noise if u are interested..

well man there was a sweet v5 type r in the auto trader last thursday its just after getting a full rebuild with warranty lots of extras irish plates nct tax and so on looks a clean car the number is 087 7917672 and the price is 7950

Have a look at that one Ciaran was taliking about 15k on the clock cant be that much wrong with it worth a look.

Is it that hard to find a car Jim. Loads of them out there at the minute. How much are you looking at spending on a Version 5-6 typeR and 03-05?

It'll give lads a target so they can look in around your price range.

I personally think Stephens car is unreal but it's to dear for you and doesn't have DCCD so thats out. I think you are looking at cars only with DCCD so in MY03 thats only JDM models. Would you go for a JDM MY03?

Yea it's been very hard to find a nice clean car this time Eric.Basically as the title says either a V5-6 Type r or 03-05 with or without DCCD.Stephens car is a nice motor but I think it's priced a bit too dear personally, but then he's not pushed on selling her and it's up to him to price her.

i dont think jim is looking to buy, i think he just likes looking :icon_nana:

good man jim...have to say I always wonder why people are willing to except a blown engine but wont take body work with a few dings?????? you can get a complete body overhaul for under a grand but a rebuild will cost 3...weird one for me anyway...I look for a car that's mechanically sound that's how I know its been treated body work issues are generally not the owners fault.
If the engine has been treated badly you have all the knock on issues transmission, suspension, diffs....

I would say the reason for that Dagnut is that you could buy your panel damage scooby, spend a grand or more to fix, drive for a month or 2 and engine sh*t itsel anyway on you and you may spend money on engine after all or be on of the guys selln there blown engine car for very little..
Buying an engine blown car is the best route to go by far, if you take that on average say a 99 00 type r with engine gone will have 4 or 5k knocked off price.... think it is in around 1500 to 2k euro for a brand new sti8 2lltr or a 2.5 lump... you will have peace of mind that you have a new engine and probably the whole car will cost you less than its ok engine equivelent on carzone etc etc, people in general wont knock too much money off for cosmetic damage and you still have an ould jap engine in it to worry about..
If i was to do it all again, i would 4get about big bhp, find an engine blown 99 or 00 type r, buy new sti8 or forged closed deck, slap it in, and get a turbo that give me around 380bhp..and leave it at that happy reliable days

i dont think jim is looking to buy, i think he just likes looking
 Jim is looking along time now DUFFMAN, Must be going on 2yrs now :1poke:
Think Jim enjoys the hunt more than the kill :1poke: or maybe he has lost the nerve for a Type R alltogether :1poke:
Come on Jim, give me 12k for mine, spend 4k and you have a new engined 430bhp/430FTLBS 6spd 00 Type R....see are you man or a mouse
