Warped splitter - anyone have any ideas?

I bought this splitter ages ago but never had the chance to fit it. Took it out of storage today and it's looking pretty out of shape:

Anyone have any idea what can be done with it? This is its proper shape (but I don't see pressing on it as a long term solution :hammerhead: )

Try getting a bit of heat into it with a hairdryer or the likes and see if you can get it back into shape... then hold it in shape til it cools... it may return back to shape with heat... or may need some persuasion.

As Jamie said heat , my ht autos splitter has warped a little bit and need to heat it up and straighten it out

You might need a heat gun, i had a similar problem, what i done is this,
put it on a flat surface and get something to weigh it down, i used some timber and a sledge hammer,

structure it so as when you put your weight on the timber the splitter sits as it would on the car,
if using a heat gun move back and forth over the length of the splitter for a few mins, then leave to cool for an hour or so

Screw a Bit of flat timber to the bottom of it, which is as long as the splitter, (use screws thru the splitter or stick some clamps on to hold it)
Now wrap it with cling film overnight to take the worst of the warps out of it! If you wish you can slide bits of timber Inside it to help shape it!
After 24 - 48 hours unwrap it again and use a hot air gun to finish reshapping it!

The timber and wrapping should take the worst of the warping out of it!
The hot air gun will help to Reshape the small imperfections left and will reset the shape!

i used some timber and a sledge hammer,

And i am just after reading a post about wicklaw members :multijump:

Hope you dont have it close at hand when tinkering with car.

Hope you get it sorted Nodge
