Just thought i would post this up for anyone looking to install water injection.I recently purschased a devils own meth/water injection kit it needed to be slightly modifed to fit in the engine bay.Im running it off the i/c spray bottle which is perfect for the installation as there is no need to mount a spare thank,I have the controller set to spray when on full boost and the injector is tapped on the intercooler inlet pipe.I had the car dynoed today and the results are amazing,i have a thor knocklink fitted and it read no knock on 95 fuel ciaran the mapper i use increased the boost to 1.5 bar and still no knock,the boost was tweaked down to 1.45 as not to put any stress on engine parts,the car is producing 342hp at 6500rpm and 362lb/ft of torque with no detonation anywhere through the rev range. :thumbsup:
 
i'm goana be running water met on my car, just be carefull in this weather with it freezing up
 
yeah the meth has a lower freezing point so should be grand
 
There was had it for sale awhile ago,but changed my mind,its a 00 type r v limited
 
we go through tons of it in work using 51 percent water 49 percent meth.

sorry, just by the heading i thought you were just running water :thumbsup:. do you find you need to fill the bottle up often, ie. do you feel you would benifit from a bigger bottle
 
im using the 250psi pump,not really as i dont have the car on full boost all the time,as i have the controller for the injection to come in only on full boost
 
i am currently in the middle of fitting a kit to my own car , i went with the aquamaist kit in my own cause it has a failsafe system in it , that cuts to actuator boost if there is

a drop in pressure or a blocked jet or meth runs low .

also i have mine wirred directly into ecu and picks up injector duty cycle .

what spec are u running in your car . ie turbo , ecu , injectors

does your kit come with a gauge , so u can monitor the flow rate ?

Great choice on the Aquamist kit. The failsafe is a must have when running high boost. It works by monitoring the flow so if pressure drops at all it will cut boost. Been talking to a tuner over in the states about these kits, the results really do speak for themselfs. Much better than octance booster.
 
Yeah i have a controller inside the car which is wired to the ecu monitors knock and intake tempatures.,i was going to get a aquamist kit but the pump was a bit to big to fit under the engine bay,it was either the injection or mapping for different fuel,and i dont really see the benefit of mapping on a more or less standard car,im running 550cc injectors a hks induction kit,hks exhaust including high flow cat,walbro fuel pump,and boost is set at 1.45bar.and the difference is unreal.car has much better throttle response.did you use the i/c spray tank or get a another one :thumbsup:
 
Cools the charged air as sprayed directly in path of air entering engine. And only engages when on boost so your not using it up when driving normal like you would if you had it mixed with your fuel.
 
So better results would be got from the 10% fuel mix as it will be present through out the boost and rev range?? UK seem to use the fuel mix over the spray system?
 
meth has no lubraction value like whats in petrol,theres reports on using meth with petrol it takes down the lubraction value of the petrol which can lead to other problems,so its better off being used indirectly,sorry ken is that peters old car looks well :thumbsup:
 
if you were mixing fuel the way to go would be ethanol,or just stick in some avgas :icon_lol:
