wats my v3 worth testin the water at the min

whats an english spec Ger????, only english 2dr ever ever was a P1. and the UK 22b

That guy probably has seen what a mint 100% working Type R can be got for, and has weighed up what his is worth with gearbox trouble, if it costs 500 to fix, doesnt mean you will get only 500 less, you take a big hit when anything is wrong, a lot more than it would cost to fix in most cases.. Lots of guys can work out better to break there car.
That car, is probably v4 with v5 bits, but at least it has the newer interior, going back to the older interior would be a real killer to me and i think really effects your selling price.
Its not a nice situation Ger, and we are all stuck in it, i faced dilema was i mad to continue my build, seen as do my gear box and new short motor are standing me around 7500 alone, and i could get a Bug sti for that money now... imagine been given a choice of a bottom end, 6spd, diff and prop sitting on a pallet or a Bugeye STI :hammerhead:

he says on it that it was imported from uk at some stage clocks are mph mayb im wrong u can get uk spec type r as well cant ya jus think wit build and all ya know wat your gettin and its in the club last couple of years jus gonna hang onto it and map her and do few other bits to her

Converter box fitted, no such thing as a uk type r. Only p1 and think there was a uk 22b but may be wrong on that one

Defo no such thing as a UK type r, all type r's are jap imports, P1 was brought out for the Uk market as they seen the demand for the jap import Type R. There was a certain number of 22Bs assigned for UK market, think these came with a UK badge on boot, Driving lamps and a stereo... not 100% on waht it came with that was different than jap 22B, but plenty of 22b experts out there who will know....
But as for UK type R, Its like a Knacker with morals.... dont exixt

there was offical uk spec type r's but not many of them just like the 25 uk spec 22b's

they came with a sunroof and a few other mods and there was a lad on here with a silver one

i also have a car mag somewere from 1997 that has them for sale ill try find and take a picture of

All jap cars coming into the UK have to change to MPH in order to pass their NCT what ever its called. They also have to change a few other things and add a rear fog light.

is there a such thing as a white p1 i seen 1 on the net in the uk but i taut they were all blue

Think you are wrong Duffman... proof is in the pudding.

found the car mag today and showed it to scooby555 alan, they came with twin airbags and at a price of 29,995 sterling as an offical import true a trader, trader had to fit twin airbag, convert kph speedo to mph just like this one. http://isdc.ie/discussion/index.php?topic=5539.msg74225#msg74225

Johnny, the original owner of that car imported 3 of them from Japan when they were new. They weren't a Irish supplied car from new as they were imported from japan. The original owner was one of the cat machinery dealers on the Nass road.
Cheers
John

But because some Dealer brought in jap imports Type r's from new and sold them with the needed mods done to me doesnt mean there was an Official UK TYPE R, if Carroll and Roche decided to bring in 5 Spec C's from Japan and sell them you wouldnt really consider them to be an Irish Spec C.
Any books or articles ive ever read always refer to the P1 being the Uk's answer to the demand for Jap imported Type R's

see what they did in austarlia

1999 also saw the official import of some 400 off modified WRX 2 door into Australia. Differences between the Japanese specification type R and the Australian 2 door have been observed as follows....

Clear rear windows rather than dark.
No active centre diff, just normal viscous coupling.
No Intercooler water sprayer.
Old style STi III suspension (ie: not inverted struts)
Large centre speedo and small rev-counter.
No technical motorised folding mirrors.
Small rear brakes (ie: not ventilated)
'Long' gearing as per std car.

Thanks to Phil Gardener for the above info. Phil owns a Japanese specification type R and got to see the Australian version whilst on holiday.

if they were new cars in japan unregistered john, the lad(johnny) could not just vrt them and pass them on as they would have no registration from japan which you need, so it would have to pass certain laws like i.e. clocks in mph etc,to be sold or liceneced in this country, which would then class themm as none jdm cars.
just like the few uk spec 22b's

the p1 was a totally different kettle of fish as they were built in prodrive but still supplied by subaru japan as a standard v6 type r

I'm not sure Johnny were they registered in Japan first before they came in. The sunroof was fitted here as Alan told me when I looked at the car. He was the second owner in this country.
As forthe UK Type R I've never heard of one before, maybe there's such a car but It's a new one on me :ponder2:
And there was only 16 offical UK 22B's
Cheers
John
