Welding on car.

Have to do a spot of welding on the car, have to fit a bracket for the exhaust.

Gonna take out the battery before i start. But my Dad reckons it could still screw up the electrics

even with the battery disconnected. :ponder:

not really im a welder by trade and the underneath of the car can act like a farady cage and store electricty any ac current can effect circiut battery or not

No it can't. A Faraday cage is conductor, and dosen't store anything. To do any damage you need a circuit. Disconnecting the battery, break's the circuit. Welding of steel in done using DC, only TIG welding aluminium is done using AC.

Yup, anytime I've got stuff welded to my cars I just disconnected the battery and everything was perfect.
I think you're reading into it way too much.
