What did you do to your car today?

If anybody wants the original highest quality snaps from Terenure or maybe something else from another show I was at during the year for a canvas, let me know. Those of you who I have not snapped yet, you know what to do! :beerbang:

image.jpegimage.jpegI got rid of my Impreza there a week or two ago. Regretting selling it but felt I wanted a change not sure what exactly I wanted, maybe I'll upgrade to an STI sometime in the future.

I picked up a golf gti last week as a run around until I find something else. I also picked up a Clio 172 cup tonight off a member on dtdirl, I worked with the owner for a while. The car is well sorted track ready, hopefully going to bring it out for a trackday soon it will be my first one. The car has Williams wheels, BC racing coilovers, Whiteline rear ARB, front strut brace, Brembo grooved disks, ebc pads, Ktec induction kit, fully polybushed and Ktec exhaust on it. Some noise off it when it gets going. I know it might not be to everyone's taste on here but I love it so far. Great power from it aswell.

Any track days coming up soon?

Cheers Chris. The car is a credit to Deco in fairness. It needs a good clean and a set of tyres, need to nct it aswell but driving the golf for the time being. It's like a go kart He had put a post up on DTD a couple of weeks ago and I got straight onto him, I told him before I finished up working with him that if it ever came up for sale I'd take it! Always loved the look of the car!

I might have a look into that, is it a Friday?

I was onto him last year before I bought the teg to see if he would sell it but no luck ha

Yeah its a Friday. You will have to ask wagon dec on here if there are any spaces.

If not mondello are holding a trackday 1st aug which can be booked on their site.

Use to always see the clio around santry. Loved it more everytime I seen it

Busy evening this evening. Fitted new front bottom ball joints to my bc5 legacy. Fitted new tie rods and track rods also. Upon removing left steering gaiter, a nice drop of fluid came out with it so it looks like I need a steering rack. If anyone has one lying around. Thanks

This might be a stupid question but can cutting and polishing a car to much damage the paint levels on a car

Ideally you need to know how deep the paint and lacquer is

Using a DA polisher on paint isn't too bad, but a rotary DA will eat into the paintwork

You can only do this a certain number of times.

I only did a light cut to get rid of majority of swirls etc but if deep cut to get rid of deep scratches you would need to be very careful you dont burn through the lacquer.

With the da all you have to worry about really is holograms from either too much pressure or not finishing it of with a polish/finishing polish at the end.

There is an endless supply of info about these and rotary polishers. I'm only starting out so I wouldnt find any question stupid

New ignition leads, spark plugs and new fog light houses... still looking for the lamps.

Fought with a seized drive shaft. Drivers side came out of the hub easy peasy. I tried a hammer, penetrating fluid, soaked in WD40, a bigger hammer and shouted at it. No budge. I'll just release it from the gearbox side tomorrow. Whore of a yoke.
