What does €12k get you in Subaru world?

Following on from my hello thread....

I've sold my current car and need to move on in the next two weeks.

I'm moving on from a UK spec Integra Type R and looking at 4wd options.

I have a budget of €12k - €13k

So I'm wondering what the Subaru world has to offer me?

Would have to be more powerful than the Integra so I'm thinking Impreza Sti's?

I'd like something a bit newer too 2003+ ideally.

I dont like the Bug eye'd Impreza's so there out.

Also no white cars.

So what would my money get me? Anything really nice or is my budget a bit stretched for a nice Impreza?

Thanks in advance

Welcome along man,

She's 02, and white!!! otherwise she's exactly what you are looking for! Defo worth a spin!
But she is the most hard core performance oriantated and lightest newage impreza the subaru built,
Mapped and ready to go! as far as I know, she hasn't been on track either!

Sorry lads, the year I'm willing to comprise on for a nice car but the colour I'm not, I cant stand white cars I'm afraid

I used to hate white cars but would advise you to have a look at the white specc.

Pity you dont like bugs nearly swap mine for it

I know but might as well see if anything falls into budget, would it be worth upping the budget to get a better car? As in is my budget VERY tight to get a well minded 2002/2003+ Sti?

Hi Yes the one above in Donedeall link is a 2003 uk blob sti. Only work done was a remap. From memory running full decat and panel filter. We supplied Walbro uprated fuel pump and Ngk 7 plugs..

We have just finished a rebuild on a 2003 blue blob eye jdm twin scroll car. Cracked piston. Full rebuild from crank up. ACL Race bearings, Genuine Subaru Head Gaskets, Brand New Exedy 3 piece clutch, Fresh Skimmed Flywheel, New flywheel spiggot bearing, New front and rear crankshaft seals, Genuine Subaru new timing belt, GT Spec/Tomei twin scroll tubular headers fully heat wrapped, Brand new Genuine Subaru turbo intake pipe, Full red samco cooling and ancillary hose kit, Motul Inugel Coolant, Motul 15/50 Engine oil (after run in), Apexi induction kit, Full de-cat exhaust with down pipe heatwrapped. New Genuine Subaru Neutral Position sensor. walbro fuel pump, NGK 7g's.

And all this is on Simtek ECU with anti lag and launch control running at 1.5 BAR on VF37 twin scroll turbo. At this spec normally achieves 330-335bhp area.

These JDM models come with Amber speedos, 6speed DCCD driver/auto centre diff controlled gearbox, HID Xenon Subaru factory headlights.

Rebuild approaching 1000km and will have oil change later in the week. Owner selling due to car upgrade. Access available anytime through ourselves with small notice.

A perfect step into Subaru ownership which with fresh rebuild, brand new clutch and Simtek ECU and Map carried out by ourselves can personally highly recommend.

Price e15,150 ono

Little dearer then link but serious peace of mind to, as much as you can hassle free quick Subaru ownership.

Excellent post, thanks very much.

€15150 is a bit much over my budget I'm afraid although the car sounds like something else. I presume though that I'd be better off getting something like that rather than my lower budget?

I could stretch to maybe €14k for something stunning but insurance on a jap Impreza will probably be twice as much as on a uk model?
