What is the best way to sell your car?

In this credit crunch recessional time, what is the best what to sell your car.
I have the car in carzone but I don't think its enough.

What other ways have you guys tried that work that work?
What about sell it through a car deal, add on the car its self, local news papers, does Auto Trader or Buy and Sell work.

I would be greatfull for some help

Try pistonheads.com too. its free (i think) and loads of people use it. Great site for rare beauties too, I can get lost in there sometimes :zzzz:
 
there isnt too much you can do mate, as dagnut said just slash the price if you can afford to..thats what i did and i sold my levin in two weeks! lost my bollox on it but
 
ya its a pain at the minute, trying to sell too but its not happening at all, never got one call have on it part exchange open to offers but nothing.
 
Nothing is selling. I slashed mine too. Very hard at minute . but ya'll be surprised the one and only genuine call ya get. will buy it
 
Im just waiting to do my NCT then putting it up for sale, not looking forward to trying to get it sold so I can buy another one

I think the only way you'll get her gone if your going for another one is to go for a dealer or go for a car seller that is looking for Part exchange.
 
That would be the ideal way but I'm moving to New Zealand next year and I'v got a 01 outback and 04 wrx wagon to shift.
 
You'd want to start selling them now. If the time comes and you still haven't shifted they you might have to give them to trade.
 
My wrx has been on for 4 weeks now and not even a nibble. I have it on at 60% down on the price I bought as a new demo.

I'll put the outback on next week.

how do you give them to trade, how does it work
 
the two things you can do IMHO are
- to make the cars as accessible as possible i.e. loads of photos and info. And advertise in loads of places like of here! cbg.ie is free as well. put an ad up down the supermarket.
- obviously price - i sold a 1999 2L Ford Focus in 3days about 2months ago by being the cheepest one on carzone. I then went and bought another car also the cheepest in its class on carzone, but the guy still took 500 less than his asking price and filled the tank.

You contact a dealer and ask them you they be interested in it and then what ever price they offer you which would be well below what you want for your car you take. But If I was going to do that I'd just advertise it at that price and let someone that would look after it have it for that price rater then seeing the dealer get the add on cash that he put on it. But it's an option.

For instance I asked what mine would be worth to a dealer and was told about €12000 as they have to but on profit and about €5000 to cover warranty.
