what is this and where does it go!!!!!

lads, apologies about this stupid question

firstly, what is this black hose for beside the blue samco one on the small tank beside radiator. it is not connected to anything and has a connection on it covered in silver duct tape. i took off the duct tape to reveal a black nipple conenctor as shown in photo's.

i traced the blue samco hose to under air intake pipe where it connects to engine steel pipe and found another steal pipe with no pipe connected to it (as shown in pic). does the black hose connect to this,

secondly, fitted k and n air induction kit and new maf over d weekend which sorted hesitation in car but now car is overheating, any idea's

Overheating not related to anything you have done imo. Check water levels etcm
