The dilemma I have at the min is I dunno if I should keep, sell or break my precious as I want a blob eye sti this long time, there is one on donedeal at the min (2005 silver type uk sti) and im in love. Dont want to sell her as she is my baby and dont want to break as ive put so much in but I want that blob :ponder2:, if I was to sell it id have to get 5000 as ive put a heck of a lot of work into it and I know this climate we are in I may sing for it where as id make more breaking it, dunno what to do.......HELP!!!!!

i would keep you current car concidering all the work you have done and you have it to a nice spec now with the potential to increase the power,if you buy the blob your starting with more or less std power depending on mods then you will end wanting to increase the power on the blob ,parts are dearer and you will have invested everything in it with nothing left to play with

If your is your every day car I would break it as the new age will be lovely all rounder but if your is just for the weekend I'd finisher her off and keep it

@Al that is a good point but if I get one all that will be done is a remap and a little few bits nothing mad
@Duffman yeah she is my everyday yoke and would love a new age as its straight out of the box

But as al said about the spec of my car it has big potential but thats when if something goes wrong its a good few pound to fix as im at the point I dunnoif I should go further with my own with ecu, and few more bits as I wont get it back in the future, when I can put it by and get a new age.......i just dont know lads

if you have the cash for a blob then buy it and break the classic,
if you need to break the classic for some funds towards the blob then it might take too long and the blob/blobs you're looking at might get sold in the mean time.....

i think you'd be mad to sell being honest after all the work you put into it and to have to start all over again with the new motor cos lets face it you wont keep it standard  . so i guess it boils down to money as in what you'd get for your own and take it from there still think you'd be mad to sell or change

lets be honest you wont be able to jus leave her at a remap

if you sure of the engine/builder and you know the specs of each of the componants you will then know how far you can take your engine with some eliment of safety in mind.

you all so know what you have now and could get a blob and appear to be mint an experience failure soon after or on your way home with it like 2 cars on here recently

but thats not to say some thing will not go bang just more of a guideline.
best of luck with your decission

Well I know every nut and bolt in her as it was built from scratch, you do have a valid point there about the engine failure and I know what she is capable off

Joe u know me to well because I did say that about my current car as all she had on her was a dump valve and exhaust haha

I think its a phase im going through as I know when I get into it tonight I wont want to sell it......

They named it the blob because its so much better looking than any other impreza, its so far ahead, it effectively shits (blobs in polite terms) on all the rest :icon_biggrin: .. Slightly biased opinion but a true one none the less :545:

As for your own, in my own experience, once you get the idea of changing into your head, then you probably wont be happy until you've changed and got it out of your system. I had a similar choice when I had my B4 and eventually just decided to sell it and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made. That being said, I think you may regret your decision as you are young enough to drive your car everyday and it not make any difference to you. The refinement of blob over the classic may actually put you off and you may end up wanting to sell again in a matter of months.

Yeah I think il just wait a little bit longer, maybe next year. I do like the new ages as my father has a 02 sti and I love it but I love tue aggresion thats in the classic, what I might do is save and get one while i.still have my own and make my decision from there.
