What's this?

The long description is for search purposes I think. Same as what goes on on DoneDeal.

Car is just a WRX Type R Limited.

NOT an STi. Has STi stuff put on over the years I recon. If you look at side of car the STi oval badge is in the wrong place. Dials, seats etc etc all added over time I think. Version 5 front on it too.

Well, I totally agree, but the owner is convincing people it's an Sti

I sent an enquiry

Hi,
Is this for sure STi version of Type-R?

There is no DCCD in the clocks, rear callipers look like 1 pot and few other details telling me its the Type-R WRX non STi?

Thanks

And got a reply..

Hi
Regardless of calipers which will almost certainly have been changed at least once in it's life or DCCD of which some models had but not the V Limited the red top engine makes it an STI and I am sure.

Sarah

My mate in the UK was really interested in this as the car looks nice.

Good thing he contacted me before paying the deposit

Further communication with the seller:

Dear jemstonecarcentre,

Thanks for your reply.

Your car is not original Sti v limited though

Original type-r Sti always comes with dccd, has the clocks with rpm meter in the centre, and also is equipped with the roof vent.

Your car is WRX Type-R V limited - non STi with some Sti parts and bits added.
The front bumper also appears to be changed and comes from ver 5

You can check the version of your car here http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html

and got typical response: :)

Hi
Is there a point to this? If not, please go and annoy someone else. The problem with these cars is they attract chavs and annoraks.

Regards
Sarah

so I wrote:

Yes, there is a point indeed.

You're selling a product which isn't genuine by using misleading description.
False advertising is against eBay rules, trading act and may be reported.

Actions like this are considered fraudulent. People not aware of original aspects of these cars may become victims of fraud.
Not mentioning the fact, that this type of thing devaluate the original products on the market.

You are right, that these cars attract chavs and "annoraks" ??. They also attract collectors and enthusiasts.

You can continue and take a risk, or either change the description of your advertisement in order to reflect the reality.

and her reply :)

Report me. I have checked on the cars original data with IM Group and it is a V Limited STI. Besides I have already taken a deposit on the car. Now you have accused me of fraud in your email it will be my solicitor who will be contacting Ebay as I intend to take action against you.

Sarah

:iamwithstupid:

HaHa what a load of bullshit from an eBay seller.

Pity the person with a deposit on it.

Sorry... but unless you slandered her in public place/forum she can waste as much time as she wants contacting her solicitor as she hasdn't got a leg to stand on. All you've done is highlight to her that her advert title is misleading and under ebay rules it should be amended or it could be considered fraudulant. What a fooking arsehole!

except the clocks, no roof scoop and few other details.

it looks like built from 2 cars really :ponder2:
