Can anyone suggest a wheel cleaner to get off burnt on brake dust. I was told it is dust from a set of Carbon Lorraine pads. Iv attached a pic. Iv tried WD40, no joy... This stuff is really burnt on!!
Should be available from halfords, elbow grease required.
Concept also do a unbeliveable alloy cleaner, pure acid nearly, used it before, dunno where stocks it though

Car is in for a heart transplant tomoro so will be in for a while! Was actually thinking for swapping those wheels for a standard set of gold Subaru wheels. Mine are a wide stance wheel and there hitting the wheel arch of the B4 over bumps!
When you get the car sorted lad and if you want to bring it down I do arch rolling so you could make them fit an also get them cleaned Leave it up to your self no problem either way lad
Ya might just do that, money tight with a new engine to buy but ill see how I go once I get her back. Ill have to do something as it only just drive able as it is.... Constantly rubbing the arches!
If its carbon lorraine dust, then your only hope is that its only a light dusting. If it is, then a good acidic based cleaner should remove it, something from halfords will do the job. Wouldn't normally recommend acidic cleaner but knowing first hand how bad CL pads are, then its the only chance you have
If its thick in places like the corners where the spoke meets the outer rim, then you may forget about it, it ain't coming off
I had the same problem. A bottle of iron x will have that sorted in less than 5 minutes, brilliant product, and can be seen in action on YouTube. http://youtu.be/Qm-sdYkbp90
