What are the good points and bad points for wheel hub spacers?? what size is to much strain, and what size causes rubbing etc.

thinking of fitting them to the legacy for a bit more aggressive look! was thinking new wheels but quite like the standard clean b4 look

cheers, but not looking for them to be sticking out or anything, not a fan of the go-kart look, just always thought they were a little to under the fenders, would love to bring them out just a little more flush with the top of the fender.

yay? nay??

Never though about just doing the rear but could look nicer, was thinkin 25mm myself, just want to be sure there is no downfalls before i purchase.....

dont think doing jus fronts or backs is advisable , as its an awd car if doing fronts backs must also be done .

No problems doing just front or back from an AWD point of view.
...Just realise that if you only do back that car will be more planted at rear, so hence bit more under-steer oriented... if you only do front then the opposite happens and hence a little more over-steer oriented.

Do make sure you buy new longer bolts to allow for the additional 25mm -- or if studs you need a different kind of spacer where you first fit and tighten spacer and then second set of bolts to fit and tighten wheel onto spacer. Also make sure you know if you need 60 degree angle or spherical fitment bolts/nuts for your alloys. Do not put spacers of more than 5mm per side (10mm total track increase) using original length bolts / studs or else high chance of failure.

25mm is max advisable on stock bearings etc and will put some extra strain on bearings. 10-15mm per side probably better from reliability point of view and will already make a nice difference. Make sure you have space by taking straight flat item like a metal ruler, put against tyre/wheel on outside face and extend above tyre so you can measure gap between inside arch and tyre as don't want to rub or even damage tyre or arch next time you go over a bump or hit a pothole.

If you are looking for place to get spacers / bolts etc, www.alloywheels.ie in Blanchardstown do all the top makes and can supply right replacement bolts etc at decent money.

Hope that helps!
