Wide arch coupe 2.5 with twin turbo 4wd????

Without the the 2.5 bit... Lol.

Duffman, that could well be the case, I'm out of work with my back and doped up 6 steroids, 8 painkillers and 2 Valiums every day so anything is possible :)

2 valiums, you shouldn't be aloud on the the inter web, :multijump:

The RS won't be AWD because its bad for MPG and therefore CO2 output. Ford don't have an AWD set up their range except the seriously heavy awd system from their SUVs and the Haldex from the Volvos..the Haldex is not real AWD and it deadens the steering feel which was important for Ford. They aren't going to develop a whole new AWD drive system for one apex model of one range, its never going to happen

No by wolf tuning in Germany and also by pumabuild in UK fairly simple mod only hard part is the Haldex control module has to be fitted and wired

Haldex is shite(FWD biased one)..its dead weight most of the time..Ford tried it out in the Mk1 RS and it got binned

Strange they can't come up with a decent system.. They have the Motorsport background... You would they would have something good to offer...

I'm not a big track day head myself, and a few of you have been saying that the Rs is every bit as grippy as awd in the dry....
So I'm just wondering... What is the Rs like to bring onto track in wet conditions... Factory standard car... Just wondering if they were a bit of a mess?

They have excellent handling wet or dry but what effects them is low gear corner exiting as they jus overwhelm the front tyres there is so much torque

I can't see anything touching AWD in the wet

In the dry the rs was .8 of a second slower around the top gear test track than a sti

Why would you think that was if the grip is on a par in the dry... I would have thought the Rs would have been more agile than the sti... The sti is nothing fantastic around a track... Good type r dc2 would be all over it

ye but its only 2 seconds slower around the ring than a cosworth impreza top gear track is not a good base to judge any car off its not a proper race track sure most of it concrete anyway it was brought out to be a against the r26 megane and the vxr astra not against a 4x4 car like the sti or evo

I was interested to know just how bad it sufferes with that power, in the wet entering and exciting sharp and tight stuff... I'm having awful visions of it here bounces on the spot and the dashboard hopping out if it lol

The Meganes have the RS beaten on most tracks with a lot less power, including the ring

Ye that's true it's lighter more track focused set up, but there is no way if I was spending 20-50k on a second hand or new car in that class that I'd buy a megane it's a Renault at the end of the day

Yeah regardless of stats the Focus has real presence, it doesn't look tacky despite the bright colours and body kit...it will be a real collectible, early residuals support that..it sounds great as well..proper modern icon
