Which diesel car?

Hey Pete,
I used to own a tdi Leon, had it for 2.5 years put up 50k miles and no problems with it whatsoever. Would recommend one anyday plus you wont pay the VW premium. The mother has had two Toledos and has had no problem either. It just my personal opinion but I would buy a Seat before a VW anyday, much better value imo.

What is a 99 Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 diesel like :ponder:

Anybody dealings with a 99 mazda 626 diesel ??
We used to have loads of Mazdas 626 both petrol and diesels, I cant remember what they were like as it didnt bother me. They would have been new at the time so no problems.
I cant ask the old man :lol:

What are they are like after a few years
 
93 - 95 cavalier 1.7td with izuzu engine. ya'd pick a good one up in the north for bout 300 squids man. Them things will go forever and run on the smell o diesel.
 
the mazda is a good car,,but parts are mad money for them if you have problems and main dealers are crazy prices for parts,used to work in a mazda main dealer and you would be embarrsed to tell people the prices,,,but they dont give much truoble to be honest,not very quick though!
 
Hi Pete I will be getting my hands on a 01 Golf 1.9Tdi in a week or so if that would interest you. Will put it through the test and have to put 2 new headlights and a front bumper on it 1st tho. Was parked at my mother in laws house and some thievin git stole the headlights and radio out of it and broke the front bumper and grill in the process. Sure let me knoe if it would interest you. Its a 2 door, black, not sure of the milage but dont think there is alot on it. Will find out all the info on it if you are interested.

The Seat Ibiza is not based on the golf, its actually based on the polo. The Leon is the Seat based on the golf. Actually a Leon Tdi would be a nice motor. Good looking car too and with VAG mechanicals and if fitted with 1.9tdi would be a trusty economical car.

Lads after driving a Scooby anything else is going to look economical but the new BMW 2.0 Ed engines are just something else. They make the 1.9tdi sound and look like a lump from a Massey Fergusen and do 15-20 mpg more than the best 2.0 tdi's on the market. A remapped BMW 320 ed will do 70mpg if driven gently and with 200+bhp and 400 ib/ft you can drive the manure out of it all day and still get over 50mpg. On the downside it is a bland soulless car which drinks from the devils cup. A car for the head maybe but definitely not for the heart.
