White KPH Speedo dial face

Morning all,

Anynone know where I could buy a white speedo dial face for my UK classic impreza marked in KPH?

I assume you can get them and just swap them over so that the KPH is the dominant lettering on the speedo rather than the MPH. :dontknow:

Any help is greatly appreciated! as I've tried Fleebay and they're all for changing JDM cars from KPH to MPH... :icon_rolleyes:

Jamie.

It's a long shot but why not contact one of the buyers on flleebay and ask them to send theirs to you when they put in the mph clocks?

Might be cheaper to pick up a set of dials from froggy? Not sure what he charges though.

If you want them I can collect from him on Saturday when we're down for the karting and drop them in to you

I wouldn't be using the complete clocks... just the dial face.

I need to get a 240kph/160mph replacement dial face... as the UK wagons are 160mph speedo dials on em!

I would love a set of red MPH dials for my 04 B4 or kph ones that go past 180 would they be dear and would they be hard to fit many thanks John Lewis.

Thanks for tat Jamie but the bulbs in mine are clear bulbs and the clocks still light up green :ponder2:

Thats because there is also green film inside the clocks. You would have to break your clocks apart and take out the green film.

if they are the same as blob eye clocks that i done then you will have to file the green of the back face of the dials. Use stage lighting film on the back of the dials to change to whatever colour you want.
The ldc screens use a green plastic filter that needs removed and use the stage film again.

takes roughly 8hrs all in but well worth it.

Below are my old blob all changed to red

Ah right so will have to take them apart so hopefully wont break them

I think you have to break some plastic to get them open, not 100% sure though.

Just an update to this....

Found a thread over on rs25.com which recommends the use of methylated/white spirits to remove the green stuff inside the gauge cluster. Whatever LED or bulb you put in there will then show its proper colour without having to shine through the green stuff first.

Below are pictures of the green stuff removed with white spirits.
