Who has a blob eye sti?

Thinking of changing to one of these in the new year! Just wondering what are they like, are they better put together than the classic version? I currently have a classic model sti but want something a little more refined and bit more comfortable on long runs and defiantly quieter, blitz nur spec and apexi down pipe isnt to easy on the ears.

@Ciaran must get you to give me a look at yours when i'm up to you for a few jobs on my scooby. Are they quieter on the road? like better sound insulation etc.

good solid well put together car....
a classic is more blood and guts
newage is a little bit more refined.

Sounds good. Is that yours in pic under your user name? Lovely looking car in black

imo the classic is pure raw bhp / torgue compared to the newage on the road . i have drove both and yes the newage is without a doubt the more refined and subtle and better equipped car without arguement but the classic is the more pound for pound fighter to go on the road in regarding the out and out feel of driving a subaru, now thats my honest opinion on the classic and for what im getting done to mine as i speak before i get shot down lol.. im spending more on my 00 model now with what it cost and what its getting done to it now, could of easily afforded a new age model but wanted that old age feel of the car i grew up with and always wanted and am now going to have please god, but each to their own and at the end of the day its still a subaru no matter what we choose :subaru: , best of luck mate

Might feel faster but a newage is quicker point to point

Yeah I agree the classic is more raw and would say the type r is very track orientated but tbh i'm gone past the stage of that and want something more refined and comfortable(I know I sound like a right old man haha) so the blob eye seem's to be the choice for me.

i have a 03 jdm blobeye and it is a great car great driver... timing valve sticking on it was the only trouble i had with it and i was told lack of use tht might have caused it to stick....

Is it the JDM version that has the nice dials? they do a diagnostic thing like the defi gauges when you turn the ignition on. Is the blitz nur spec for this model quieter than the classic version? I seen there is also a touring version of the nur spec, anyone have that?

Anyone know can the newage dials be fitted to the UK spec blob eye? What aftermarket exhausts are people using on there 01-05 model?

hi i have a 2004 blobeye sti type uk ppp with afterburner vortex midpipe and backbox. awesome sound from this exhaust. id also like to change the dials to the defi ones if its possible. blobeye is savage car tho!

I've owned 4 new age cars. 2 Bob eye and 2 Bug eyes and found them all very different to each other. My 02 STi had better tighter seats then my 03 STi. But the 03 had more responsive steering. The 03 car had a standard STi system and was quit where as the 02 had a full prodrive system including the cat and sounded great. My 3 Classic to where all very different. I had a jap sec TypeRA version 6 with no sound proofing but it felt totally different to the 00 Irish turbo I had in every way. So in my opinion all these cars are different but if you want a newage you'll know yours when you drive it.

Out of all mycars the ones I miss the mst are the MY03 STi

and my STi TypeRA V-Limited WRC special edition.
