Why are there so few hatch Imprezas ?

I might be in the minority here, but I really fancy the hatchback Imprezas from late 2007+ and had hoped my next Impreza would be one in a few years, but even looking now on any of the Irish carsites, there is only 1 for sale.

Did no one buy them in Ireland ? or are they so loved that no one wants to sell them ?
 
I should obviously mention - I'm referring to WRX and STIs here - diesels are the devils work :mooner:
 
Who would pay 2k tax to drive the ugliest Impreza ever? :p

I'm with ondafly here I would a hatch next really like them but 2500 Euro tax a year is criminal
 
Well the wrx hatch was heavier and slower and more comfortable (worse) than the hawk wrx it replaced and the general public didnt like the design and subaru fans hated it so that would explain lack of sales I rem Carroll and roach had 2 hatch sti s yrs ago but at around 65k they were a hard shift same problem with the evo 10 around 70k back in 08 ud want ur head examined...

I gotta say they have grown on me alot and id defo like one alright theres a nice silver one on here and its v nice indeed
 
The cars registered after June 2008 are taxed on the CO2 basis, not the capacity of the engine.

The STi engine exceeds 226 and goes into the dearest tax band,
 
as above its 1080 before july 08 after that its co2 based :mooner: would love 1 but its hard to make the figures work with tax
 
has pigoenhead still got his sexy phat hatch ,and wasnt he pre tax bracket

im another hatch man ,defo over the newer saloon . but like others ,couldnt justify the tax .

i consider my current tax a rip off when compared to other cars on the road which wierdly enough have the same amount of contact with the tarmac . engine size and emissions me boll1x . FIX THE BLOODY ROADS .

was a blue one for sale at newlands cross few months back , old Renault garage ,

think Dave/narked was selling his a while back , that was a lovely car 2

and from what I understand now - bring in an Impreza hatch from Japan , 2007 only, get twinscroll and 2 litre ? and old tax system ?
