Whats the benefit of uprating to a Walbro fuel pump Is it only benefical when you put in larger injectors to provide better flow to them?I need to modify the pump housing for it to fit so its a substansial mod

Also if you have a 2 port solenoid as standard, what are the benefits of going to a Subaru 3 port one? Need to decide on both of these before remap in the next 2 weeks

Walbros are more so put in to older cars as a freshn up alternative, they do flow more fuel, but i think your own pump will flow enough Dan, and your car is newish so your own pump isnt tired.

3 port solenoids control boost better, you be best to get one of these as ive heard a few stories about the standard newage impreza ones been a pain in the arse and getting boost spikes etc etc, doesnt have to be a Subaru one either Dan, can buy aftermarket ones, could be wrong but think they 100 -120 euro.. i think you should get one imo

as above with the 3 port definitely a good mod to do ,but i would also recommend using a walbro ,when you uprate the map on the car and have other mods the pump could run out of flow capacity high up the rev range this is why a high flow pump is fitted to stop fuel starvation at high boost and revs thats my opinion anyway

The Walbro gives a better gaurantee of enough fuel delivery versus stock and as we all know lean fuel supply is bad for Subaru.

Also i like the look of this one,and it explains a bit about the 3 Port solenoid.

Did you mean to include a link?

I might have a go at fitting the Walbro tomorrow, It does involve modifying the pump housing though, so once done, there is no going back to standard one. I'll fit the 3 port subaru solenoid before map too as they are supposed to be the most reliable and recommended ones
