Window scraping...

Sunday Drivers
I am thinking of buying 2 rear windows for my classic impreza as they are badly scratched..
I had the same problem with my last impreza couple of years back and it really annoying and noticible.
Was wondering if anyone knows wha exactly scrapes the windows and is it a waste of money to replace them? :dontknow:
Can i do anything so as not to scratch new ones??

Cheers.

I know your pain. :icon_lol:

On the classics the rubber on the windows are very tight as you see when opening/closing them
when there wet they pretty much wipe the rain or water off.

By this if you do be on the beach mainly the salt in the sand sits on the rubber and scrathes the windows
when opening and closing.

Daily dirt also can be a factor.

You can try remove the scrapes with a good abrasive polish an a da polisher. Depends how bad the scapes are doe.

oh ryt, i taught maybe it was something down in the door itself,
Maybe give the polish a go first so
hopefully it will work

Cheers

I have a ball mark on my wind screen the past year and a half from it been hit down the beach.

Does my head in as its right in my driving line on the windscreen. Keep meaning to get rid of it.

Cerium oxide on a felt pad with a rotary polisher. Don't use a dual action as you be there all year and the vibrations may shatter the glass.

Your biggest problem is probably the glass holder inside the door, they gather dirt and basically push against the glass to keep it from shaking when the window is down and then they just drag along the glass every time it moves. Also check and clean the rubber pieces like keith said
