mine just failed on front tints. mine is 40% and the maximum is 35% or factory tint is passable!! so have to peel off to pass an get it re tinted... rage
Caff, did they take a measurement using some sort of light meter? your tints were not that far off passing

As long as your tints allow 65% or greater light through, it should pass. From what I'm reading/hearing, factory tints are about high 80's, so in essence you could get a very light tint put on, adding that to the factory tint as long as its above 65%, then it should pass.

They cant just say factory tints only if they are basing their failure on a specific reading

If my car went in and was borderline failure, I would ask them to prove the meter is checked by placing the 2 sensors together to get a reading of 100%. Only then will you know they are reading your window using a true zero

the measured it with some round meter they stick on the window. it measures the amount of light that wil pass thru or sumtin. i didnt see the readin now which was my mistake i just took it for granted as they be doin cars every day ya no....

Could you take the glass out and just tell them you like the wind in your hair? Would it pass with no windows?

with our weather your more likely to get frost bite, soaked and hailstones on the way to the test centre lol :545:
