It is a good idea to have the following sorted:
- have good traction tyres for the season, preferably winter (overkill I know) or all-season with plenty of tread left and properly inflated (not a bad idea to check the pressure once the temperatures plummet including the spare)
- washer fluid that would stay liquid down to -10-15C (might drop down at nights)
- car fully serviced and well maintained (in particular lights, battery, wiper blades (braceless 'aero' ones are better), heating, aircon in top nick)
- ice scraper, de-icer, torch, blanket, warm jacket, first aid kit, warning triangle, high-vis vest, tyre pump, tyre weld, jump leads, tow rope (the last yoke to help the others)
- try to keep the tank full
- bar of chocolate , a bottle of water and a few CDs (could be Christmas music or snow patrol)…
Stay out of trouble and happy winter motoring.
