wow

Why is windows so bad? I had an old xp computer and it was great, had both vista and now this windows7 sh*t on other computers and they wont work with my printer or software so had to resort to a netbook with xp. Vista and 7 also seem to make good computers run slow :comp26:

use your XP and be happy then. Vista is d bigest s**t I ever came across.
win7 is good but needs time to sort out all incompatibilities (not sure about the spelling) and need power comp to run it.

You won't find many businesses who've moved away from XP, that says it all.

Well this is mostly because the cost of hardware upgrade would be way too big and time to teach every employee how to use the system as well. On the other hand - yes, they may be problems with compatibility as it is 'new' operating system and almost all companies use their own long time used softwares.

But you can't say, that Win 7 is crap, slow or not good. Business is business...

And yes - for now Macs are way more reliable... but again it's a matter of time when Macs will be as vulnerable as previous Windows versions.

Why would you think so?

For 3 years when I've been working in Apple Tech Support - I didn't have any single incident of the customer getting a virus on the mac. I don't think it's gonna change very soon.
Mac OS X is based on UNIX - operating system used in Servers for years. There is no such thing as registry on a mac, that can be infected, as it can be on windows.

The good thing about macs is that Apple build Hardware and Software which goes great together.. There are no driver incompatibility issues, as on Dells, HP or no-name PCs running Microsoft Software.
As long as you connect the 3rd party device with compatible drivers to the MAC - it will work.

Plus if you really need to use Windows application on the Mac, since 2006 after Apple switched technology from PowerPC to Intel - you can easily install Windows on a Mac and have 2 parallel operating systems.

Has nothing to do with hardware upgrades, I buy new hardware every week and downgrade to xp, there is no training to using windows 7 or vista as you can set a group policy to run them in classic mode.
microsoft were set to pull support on Xp at the end of 2009 and have now extended it indefinitely, what does that tell you.
And I'm certainly not defending MACS but as codders said no registry no sticky virus, thats why my servers are iSeries and UNIX. MACS are to expensive to roll out as desktops.
