good stuff.. why did Ogier get the sack.. I still reckon on his day Petter Solberg is as good as any of them.. should be good year with a few more teams in it

should be a good year alright. loeb will be the one to catch anyway .latvala and solberg being the only conterds to him .unless vw have the car to beat citron then ogier has the beating of loeb .should make it interesting anyway

the word doin the rounds is that ogier wasnt happy to have to give up his points to allow loeb to win the championship which is understandable and he didnt want to be second to loeb :dontknow:.definitely agree with you on petter he is a great driver and the fact that he has manufacturer backed team behind him now he will be faster than last year as he was paying then and he is not now so the pressure is off financially cant wait to see him in the fiesta .

@scoobysub i wouldnt rule out mikko as being up there he is probably the most consistent driver in the wrc and also very fast when on form i think he just fell into a rut in ford, but the only problem he has now is team orders strange step for him to go back to second driver and leave a no.1 seat behind :ponder2:

ye mikko can be fast dec but just give a look back and see how many punctures and mechanical failures ogier had in the same car that loeb had and its sticking out a mile why he left, mikko will have to tow the line to . if latvala can keep it between the ditches he has a good chance .

my money is going on solberg with a factory drive and no pressure on finances, which means he can go flat out without worrying about not crashing

It'll be interesting to see how Loeb and Hirvonen compare in an identical car, hopefully they get to race each other with no team orders crap.

Great to see the Monte back on the WRC, and also Francois Delecour competing.

Shame about Kris Meeke being sidelined in Mini, looks like they sacrificed talent for budget, the age-old problem in motorsport.

i heard that too dec ogier wasnt happy playing second best to loeb kinda like mcrae and sainz all them years back, makes for intersting season and rallies when there is competition between team mates
@ gerry i always said it if solberg had a decent car he would be up there with the best of them

it will be interesting to see but we all know loeb is the best there ever has been ,thats not to say mikko cant driver far from it actually i think when things go right is the only one out there who over the years has consistently stayed close to loeb

the monte was always one of my favourites remember when i was younger with the escort wrc,s the evo,s and the scoobies it was always savage to watch

chris unfortunately was not bringing the cash that dani could but having said that i would pick dani over chris as the better driver ...seriously consistent and quick as fu*k on tar

bad news for the wrc lads north one sport the promotion company in charge of promoting and broadcasting wrc was sacked by the FIA so no wrc on setanta or motors tv anymore and the wrc site has not been updated since early december

http://www.sportbusiness.com/news/1...one-sport-s-world-rally-championship-contract

the good news is that eurosport is probably way better anyway so might make no difference to us the viewer and they have there own site so we still can view all the details

Sad state of affairs for the premier championship in world rallying, good to see it back on Eurosport as said above. Hopefully it'll recover from this messing.

On the coverage, saw this elsewhere:

Rallye Monte Carlo coverage:

TV highlights every night on Eurosport
