The actual reveal will be in a few hours today at the NY motor show. I take these early concept images with a pinch of salt but I am really hoping the actual final production car is a 4 door and not coupe only.
It will be interesting to see if Toyota use the chassis for a new Celica GT4. One thing which makes me think that the final version will be nothing like this concept is the need to drastically reduce its size if Subaru are serious about their intention to re-enter the WRC. It would have to be roughly the size of a Fiesta and would likely be a 2 door.
I am a bit concerned that Subaru will mess it up with another 2 year tour of auto shows with concepts as they did with the BRZ and by the time it is actually launched it will be out of date with an inefficient but powerful 2.0 engine with uncompetitive Co2 emissions. Any chance this car has of coming back to our shores must mean that it has low Co2 emissions otherwise Subaru Ireland will stick to importing diesels only. The power and efficiency of the all new 2 liter engines in the soon to be launched 2013 Audi S3 & Mercedes A45 AMG are surely the benchmarks for Subaru.
