as above lads i was just wondering has anybody done this in the club and was wondering is it a lot of hassle :ponder2:

also roughly how much did it cost :ponder2:

cheers cally

the hid type is an aftermarket kit to buy and gives really bright light in a choice of intensities but wont pass NCT ....
the other type are normally gotten when car is first bought but can be bought in aftersales and will pass NCT...
open to correction but thats my understanding....
alot of jap import performance cars come with xenons!!!!

I have xenon on car and jeep , and they do pass once they are adjusted correctly , why would they not pass ??

are you talking bout zenon or hid????
with hid,the light just goes in all directions....in 95% of cases, its not focusable in my experience but im open to correction!!!

They are bosch xenon HID conversion kits and they throw light the exact same as any other lamp , its the shape of the light dish that gives
it its shape, i put them in a classic which are the h4, hi lo beam type and it passed last week, my jeep has same and passed D.O.E each time
and they are the proper xenon that you can get colour tempetures in. I think most people seem to fit the xenon kit and not get the lights adjusted after, they normally need to be lowered a bit and then they will pass. Cars that come with xenon have a built in levelling motor to keep them at a constant level, but that only stops them blinding people!!!

This is what i'm after...

some nice head lights on there would there be worth getting or would the alingment be all over the place.
Id say there only for usdm

they would focus to the opposite side of the road !!!!
last time i had this problem with a customer,he brought a volvo xc90 back from abu dabhi and wouldnt pass nct,had to replace the actual glass lens on the headlamp to irish ones....volvo have a kit for changing them....sounds mad but its true!!!!
thats why i bought JDM headlamps for my own even though i saw cheaper in the U.S...

ye probualy better off sticking to jdm, people would be flashing at ye all the time it would drive me mad
maybe a set for the summer though they look class

i'v talked to these guys the do they rebuild lights, so they were going to do them on the opposite side so to match our(irish roads) requirements.. thats why i wanted your lights mark you gota send them the lights to get converted..

@ian
thats gotta be expensive mate!!!
postage to U.S and back again!!!
lights look great in IMO...but thats bit messy!!!

what other way will a hid bulb work if theres no ballast ????
:ponder2: :ponder2:

A lot of people buy bulbs that have HID written on the packaging which obviosly are not Hid, but you would be surprised how
many people have told me they have HID or xenon and then say they bought them for 7 euro even ALDI do bulbs that say HID
