Yet another load of shite when selling a car

It seems that the UK has clamped down a bit, I have a guy interested in buying my car but at the UK end of things they now request a document stating that Duty was paid in the EU... If not they charge him 20% of market value over there..

It's a load of nonsense considering that when you import a car
NO.1 you can't get it off the docks untill you have paid duty
NO.2 you can't VRT the car without the receipt for Duty paid....

So the fact the car has an Irish reg should be proof enough really!!!!!

It's a bit of a mess, the only one who would have seen that document was the importer and it would have been then handed in to VRT the car...

So now 3 owners on, and 7-8yrs later how the Fuk do I get a receipt stating duty was paid????

Revenue should have a record of it as long as you used your pps number. Get in touch with them down in Wexford.

Have you missed the bit about it being over 7yrs ago and I'm. The 3rd owner???

Don't know where you would start to look, pain in the ring

Give revenue a ring and im sure they will point you in the fight direction

as long as your not trying to get money hack cant see it heing a problem

:smokin:

Doesn't matter how many owners. Revenue will have all the records for the car on file. All you need is the chassis number and or the reg

No it's just the receipt I want... It costs you 500 quid to try get some vrt back lol... Don't even know if you have to be the one that originally paid the vrt or not.

Current owner can claim back vrt before export 500 is discounted for fees
Once car is NCTd
Mate just bought a 730d for 8 g getting near 6 g of that back before export
